ABOUT US
Hey Y'all!
My name is Whitney Howell.
I am a mom of two young boys, cancer survivor, and small business owner on a mission. I want to help local, small business owners and artists turn their passions into thriving businesses by creating opportunities to help sustain their success for years to come.
Through these entrepreneurial efforts, I also hope to create a connection between the local shopper and the Fort Worth small business community.
Being a business owner myself, I was struggling with how to build my business and get my products in front of the community. I saw a need to be filled. A couple of years ago, I was searching for affordable ways to get exposure and recognition for my home-based business. I realized my need was shared by many other local businesses who couldn’t afford the typical corporate and/or larger business marketing budget. As a small business owner, we are all wearing many hats while trying to fulfill a variety of goals on a shoestring budget. With these ideas in mind, I created a network opportunity for small businesses in our area.
Voilà! In February of 2016, Shop Small Fort Worth was born!
The objective is to maximize our brands and products by publicizing our craft through social media and market events. Also, through our new storefront and office called The Collective, we host creative workshops for the community to connect with local artists as well as educational classes for the business owner to network and strengthen their business acuity.
The myriad of local boutiques, artisans and craftsmen creates an opportunity for shoppers to find chic and unique products and services that are not often found in other venues or businesses. The heart of
Shop Small Fort Worth is a meaningful shopping experience that I have created for you and for your clients and customers. A physical example of our collaborative efforts with local small business owners can be found in the storefront I created in February of this year. The Collective is another piece of the bigger puzzle! When you visit The Collective, you will find four retailer showrooms throughout the building along with other handmade and designed pieces from various Fort Worth locals available to purchase. Along with our market events, all of our items and vendors are carefully curated to showcase the best quality and most unique items. We hope you will agree!
We invite you to attend and/or participate in our markets, pop up events and workshops that we hold throughout the year. It’s a great time to network, mingle and have some fun all while supporting our Fort Worth local business owners.
Thank you for your Shop Small in Fort Worth state-of-mind!
