Local Showcase: Juice Junkies

At Shop Small Fort Worth  we are all about preserving our community’s character through local businesses. We care about their stories, their trials, and their successes. We are excited to get to know the business owners and creators on a more intimate level and understand exactly what inspired the formation of their businesses and how they want their business to impact the local community!

Read on to learn more about Hillary Biediger, owner of Juice Junkies...

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your business?

I was born and raised in Fort Worth. I grew up in the world of ballet and attended the Fort Worth School of Ballet and performed with the company.  I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a BA in Theater.  I moved to NYC and lived there 10 years pursing dance, theater and music.  I love my business but my number one passion will always be music and dance.  I will sing and dance for anyone at the drop of a hat, haha!

What made you start your shop?

When I was living in NYC I discovered juice bars.  They had juice bars in health food stores…everywhere.  After I had my first green drink I had so much energy I couldn’t believe it.  So, I was hooked.  I bought a juicer and juiced everyday.  When I moved back to Fort Worth I wanted to open a juice bar.  It took a few years but my dream finally came true and I opened my first location in November of 2013.  It has evolved quite a bit with us introducing a lot more vegan food options.  I consider Juice Junkies to be more of a Vegan Bistro than Juice Bar, now, because we have so many food options.

What do you like most about being apart a community of small shops in Fort Worth?

Well, I love my hometown of Fort Worth.  To be a part of the small business community is very special to me.  I have met so many wonderful people over the past 5 years.  Everyone is so supportive and encouraging. Fort Worth is a great city and Fort Worthians really support local businesses.  It means a lot to them, which means a lot to me.  I feel extremely lucky to have a business in this wonderful town!

Thank you so much Hillary for opening up, and sharing your story with our Shop Small community. If you would like to learn more about Juice Junkies and their local business, check out the links below.
